Our roots run deep on Vancouver Island. It began in 1851, when Joseph Despard Pemberton arrived to survey the region — laying out Victoria and communities from Sooke to Nanaimo.
In 1887, Pemberton & Son opened as engineers, surveyors, and real estate agents. The firm became Pemberton Holmes in 1933 — beginning a brokerage legacy that has never left the island.
Six generations of family leadership have carried us forward, most recently with Michael Holmes in 2003. Through every era, we've stayed independently owned, locally led, and committed to the communities we serve.
Today, that history shows up in how we work. We put people before transactions, invest in local relationships, and give agents the training, technology, and support to build lasting careers here at home.
